1st August “Yorkshire Pudding Run”.  A fantastic day out for our club, this event has really put our club on the map. Thanks to the very hard work by Charles (events secretary) and Martin.

Also other member’s contributions in many other ways through sponsorship, sale of raffle tickets, helping with advertising and avocation of the event to others. About £750.00 was collected for Martin House Charity, this plus the £250.00 collected at the Thwaites Mills Show gives a total of £1,000.00.

75 cars had entered for the run and most did complete the very interesting course. The scenery was some of the best in Yorkshire. A 1930s Alvis Saloon was one of the most interesting models in the ‘Brittania Hotel’ car park. I think 5 Triumph Stags, two White a Yellow, a Red and Blue completed the course. I also did the run in my own Green MGBGT with Sue as navigator, she did really well and kept me on the route. The car ran well, no problems at all. Barry & Graham Payne’s car got very hot with downhill braking after Malham cove so we waited at the Falcon Inn pub with Barry & Graham until the Midgets discs cooled down. We all had a beer before setting off again.

It was a very enjoyable day out and everyone I spoke to could not praise it and its organisers highly enough.
